03 / THE THREAT

The legend behind the game

MAHASONA

In Sri Lankan folklore, Mahasona is a fearsome demon often depicted with the head of a bear. One telling begins with the warrior Jayasena, beheaded in a duel with Gotaimbara; a bear’s head is placed on his body, and Mahasona rises.

Moha draws on this legend for its central threat. The village’s old rituals are no longer just something to investigate.
